Environmental Studies Program Staff

Program Director: Dr. Dan McCool, Professor of Political Science, became the director of the Environmental Studies Program in July 2003. Professor McCool has been active in the Environmental Studies Program since its earliest days, serving on the Environmental Studies Steering Committee and teaching environmental policy courses. He has written widely on environmental issues, particularly related to water in the west. McCool created the Red Rock Institute, an innovative educational program that seeks to resolve environmental conflict through direct experience with land and environmental issues.



Program Assistant Director and Advisor: Natasha McVaugh Seegert,
graduated in 2000 from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. After working as the Youth Gardening Coordinator at Wasatch Community Gardens for two years, she returned to the University of Utah and received an M.S. in Environmental Education. Natasha has been the Academic Advisor since 2001 and is currently pursuing a PhD in Communication.
