Environmental Studies and College Scholarships

The Environmental Studies Program is the recipient of two generous scholarships sponsored by Eugene Andreason. These scholarship are available to declared Environmental Studies majors. Scholarship applications are typically due mid-February and are awarded for the upcoming academic year.

The College of Social and Behavioral Science Scholarships are also available to Environmental Studies Majors. These scholarships are typically due mid-February and are awarded for the upcoming academic year.

Scholarship applications for the 2008-2009 academic year are due February 8, 2007 to the Environmental Studies Program (310 OSH). College Scholarships include the Honor Roll Scholarship (open to all students), the Marie Gaby Scholarship (for minority students), and the Oakley J. Gordon Scholarship (for students who have had seven years lapse between high school graduation and their entrance to the University of Utah). Students are also encouraged to apply for the merit-based Kennecott Scholarship.

Graduate students should consider applying for the David C. Williams Fellowship which awards funding to graduate students committed to studying, writing, and disseminating information about the principles of stewardship and sustainability in the management of public lands.

Available to: Environmental Studies Majors
Application: Submit: (1) a CSBS Honor Roll Scholarship Application Form; (2) an official transcript of University of Utah credit; (3) two letters of recommendation; (4) 500 word personal statement.
Deadline: Mid-February - check with ENVST for exact date
Value: $3,000
# of Awards: Variable, Usually 2

Special Conditions: Recipients must be Environmental Studies majors to be awarded this scholarship. Recipients must be a full-time student during the award year to receive this scholarship.
Important: All applications MUST be submitted to the Environmental Studies Program. The ENVST office is located in 310 OSH. The ENVST mailbox is located in 252 OSH.
